Task:
Context
Understanding trending technologies and their impact on the effective and sustainable operation of organisations is vital for working in businesses today. In addition, considering security and privacy issues with these trends is essential for ethical technological practices.
Instructions
In this assignment you are asked to compile a collection of tasks relating to your course topics to create an e-portfolio (a portfolio of work submitted digitally).
In addition to your own thoughts, ensure each response draws on research (a minimum of 8 high quality references is expected for the whole portfolio).
Below outlines each required task:
Task 1
Create your hypothetical business
Create a hypothetical (imaginary) business. This business informs your whole
eportfolio, pick up the topic from Digital Disruption or Green IT
Write a paragraph introducing us to your business. Aim to answer the following questions:
• What type of problem will your business solve?
• Will you sell a product or provide a service? Describe them.
• How will your product/service solve the problem with the help of technology (briefly)? 300 words
Task 2
Information systems, digital disruptions and your hypothetical business
1. Identify and describe 1-2 information systems you will have for your business. What types of information systems are they? What are their roles in your business? What do they contain? (Hint: consider software, hardware, networks, procedures and people that make up the information system)
2. What do you see as emerging capabilities of these information systems? (Hint: would any of the technological trends in Week 2 enhance their functionalities or impact them in some way?)
3. In the context of digital disruption, what may be the strengths and weaknesses of your business? What may be its opportunities and risks? How might it benefit from digital disruption?
Write 100 words about the information systems in your business and their emerging capabilities. Then complete a SWOT analysis (click here if unsure how to do this) on how your business may benefit or face risks from digital disruption (appx 100 words)

What role will these emerging trends play in your business?
Consider the emerging trends from the list below:

Identify and describe the technological trends from the above list that you can take advantage of in your business (minimum 2).
Explain their roles in your business and why they were chosen. For example, if you’re going to build a mobile app, apply AR and take advantage of the upcoming 5G network for your business, what will they do, what problems will they solve, how will they work together to solve those problems, how will they benefit the user?

Consider how can business intelligence and big data be used and incorporated in your hypothetical business. Create a BI dashboard that could be used in your business to assist management make decisions. (150 words)

Identify the cyber security measures you will take with regards to the technologies you have chosen for your business. Explain the reasons why you choose these measures.
