ou have previously been involved in the tendering, contract development and negotiations for the Mr & Mrs Brown residential project at 1 Lake Rd Toronto. The contract has been signed off and the construction planning has commenced. There are a number of activities that need to be completed prior to the commencement of construction works. Construction Manager Joe Lugarno has asked for your assistance and he requires Task 1 & 2 back by early next week. You are supervising three other projects at the moment and are concerned that you will not get it done in time. Task 1: Set up site files Task 1 Establish an electronic file structure that is to be used for the collection and management of construction site documentation. Consider this file structure being used over multiple projects, and there needs to be a consistent and standardised method that will allow flexibility from job to job. The following considerations must be addressed: The file structure will allow for expansion and flexibility as documents and processes are established. Brief, consistent and logical naming convention. Will contain folders and subfolders for the storage of typical construction records, policy and processes (Not all folders will be necessarily used for this assessment). The site files are to be on a USB that can be used to store assessment documents and submitted as evidence on the completion of this unit. Task 1 - Student Checklist To successfully complete Task 1, you must complete the following: 1.Established an electronic file structure that is to be used for the collection and management of construction site documentation. 2.The electronic file structure is a consistent and standardised method that will allow flexibility from job to job. 3.The following considerations must be addressed: Allows for expansion and flexibility as documents and processes are established. Is brief, consistent and has a logical naming convention. Contains folders and subfolders for the storage of typical construction records, policy and processes. 4.The site files are on a USB that can be used to store assessment documents. Submission of Work Once all of the above tasks are complete for Task 1, place the documents into the site files and send to the teacher for marking.
