The focus of this report is to follow on from the Operation’s Managers recent presentation of the 2020 Operational Review for Absolute Edge Media (AEM). The discussion to follow will highlight areas of process improvement, which the analysis of the previous review presented as opportunities for AEM to scale its social media management services. Improving process and design function around the specified service needs to focus on improving how it onboards clients who contract for social media management, which will give AEM the potential to scale their business and bring them back in alignment with the growth strategy developed in 2016.

Labour cost is the most significant expense for Absolute Edge Media, and by making improvements to the process once a client signs a contract for a social media management plan is what this report will present through its recommendations. Keeping costs at an affordable rate is how AEM has been able to gain new business, but the quality of the work delivered is how they have been able to retain those clients. The process undertaken by the staff when a client scoping plan is mapped out will be the main outline mentioned by Slack and Brandon-Jones (2018). Speed and flexibility are drivers of overall cost while dependability supports overall client perception of quality.

Important issues of team capabilities and poor organisation of workflow are identified in the report. A focus on operations flow configuration, quality management and digital transformation is used to provide recommendations which will show that opportunities exist to enact changes to the existing process. These changes will significantly bring down the cost, improve the clients experience through quality and in turn result in better value to the client.
