Using the qualitative data set provided to you from the survey (see Week 1 tutorial) and the skills and knowledge relating to qualitative research and data analysis covered in the learning materials, construct a brief written report to address the research question. The report should be structured using the subheadings outlined below.
Using the qualitative data set provided to you from the survey (see Week 1 tutorial) and the skills and knowledge relating to qualitative research and data analysis covered in the learning materials, construct a brief written report to address the research question. The report should be structured using the subheadings outlined below.
Research Question:
What strategies do students use to achieve balance in their lives?
Report Structure (scientific reports are organised using the following sub-headings)
Title
Provide a brief title that reflects the contents of the report
Introduction
(1) Provide a brief introduction to the topic (i.e. work-life balance/resilience) and (2) justification of why this is a worthy topic of research in students. (3) Then write out the research question/aim.
Tips: The best reports will include at least one reference in this section. Recommended word count (not including references).
Methods
Describe how the data were collected (i.e. via the survey) and analysed (i.e. thematic analysis). Recommended word count 50 – 100 words.
Results
Report on the findings from the qualitative data analysis through the use of thematic summaries and representative participant quotes from the data to illustrate your emergent themes. This is the bulk of the report. Word count does not include quotes from participants.
Discussion/Conclusion
Summarise the key themes in a way that answers the research question. Consider the strength and/or limitations of the methods used in this study. Recommended word count words.
References
All references cited in-text should be listed in your reference list in APA 7th formatting style. In-text and reference lists are not included in the word count.
Formatting tips
1. Writing quality and presentation will be considered in the assessment of the report (see marking rubric). Formatting of the report should be neat and consistent (e.g. Calibri, Arial or Times New Roman font, font size not less than 10, double line spacing).
2. All referencing should follow APA 7th Formatting style.
