This assessment task requires you to review the performance automotive workplace against its business plan over a 12-month period, analyse the business marketing strategies effectiveness against sales over a 12-month period and to develop a strategy to improve the businesses performance based on outcomes
This assessment is divided into three parts. For each part, there will a task that needs to be completed. This assessment is to be conducted in simulated workplace.
Part A
Review of the performance of the automotive workplace against its business plan over 12 months. Use the template provided to develop your contingency plans.
Using the workplace business plan provided by your trainer/assessor, analyse the goals and key performance indicators (KPI’s).
Assess the relevance of the goals and KPI’s to each operational area of the business.
Identify three (3) gaps and risks that may impede the achievement of the business’s goals and KPI’s.
Develop a strategy to mitigate each risk identified in Q3 to allow the business to meet its goals and KPI’s.
Develop a contingency plan to address possible areas of non-conformance with the business plan. A contingency plan should consist of the following points and be 500-800 words in length.
Part B
Analyse the business marketing strategies effectiveness against sales over 12 months.
Write a report using the template to answer the following points
Identify one (1) key product and one (1) key service within the business
Analyse these and determine a suitable focus for future marketing and promotional activities, ensuring that the objectives of the business plan are being met.
To determine an appropriate marketing mix, analyse the costs and benefits of providing three (3) different levels of customer service.
To determine an appropriate marketing mix, analyse the costs and benefits of using three (3) different types of distribution channels.
Part C
Develop a strategy to improve the business's performance based on the outcomes of Part A and Part B. Use the template provided to develop your plans.
Develop a plan for the next 12 months that includes;
Regular quarterly meetings where business development strategies and outcomes are reviewed with the appropriate stakeholders. Develop an agenda and meeting template for how the meetings will be conducted.
Reviews of the operational plan, to be conducted at least twice in the 12-month period, to determine possible improvements to the business.
Regular monthly meetings with relevant managers to discuss new ideas and activities. These need to be presented in a business case format. Research and develop the best format that staff can use in your organisation to capture their ideas. Ensure there is a section in your business case template that allows the relevant management to approve any new ideas or activities before implementation.
