ACC6015 Collaborative Project
Task:
he objective of this assignment is to link your understanding of accounting standards with current accounting issues, including research and practice in accounting profession. This project involves writing a research report on recent changes in a selected accounting standard and its relevant impacts.
Students are expected to work collaboratively in a group (not more than 4 students) to complete a research report of approximately 2000 words to include discussion on the following with context limited to a selected accounting standard that is covered in this unit:
Overview of the selected accounting standard
Importance of this accounting standard
Has it been recently revised? When was it revised? What have been revised?
Why is there a need for revision?
When is it effective?
What are the impacts after revision?
Who are affected by the revision?
You may want to start doing some initial research before deciding on a particular standard that the group will select for this collaborative project.
Unit Learning Outcomes
1. Analyse financial accounting problems and generate solutions by examining, interpreting, and applying relevant accounting standards for external reporting purposes.
2.Work collaboratively in preparation of a group project demonstrating application of relevant accounting standards.
3. Prepare financial statements for external reporting purposes by demonstrating effective communication skills in the application of selected accounting standards.
