The origin of Federation University Australia was founded in 1870 and it was the fourth oldest tertiary education institution in the country. It got its current name in 2014 after the merger of Monash University's Gippsland Campus and the University of Ballarat. Here the halls of Residence are provided to students with a modern and environmentally friendly living option. The complex consists of two buildings, with a total of 50 bedrooms. The next few residences are located on campus at Berwick, which is only a short walk to classes and campus facilities.
