The following criteria will be used to assess the Teacher Performance Portfolio and overarching statement:
a. Collects, justififies and reflflects upon evidence that demonstrates the nominated Australian Professional Standards for Teaching
b. Demonstrates ethical and professional practice through the evidence and reflflection included in the portfolio
c. Makes links to current curricula (EYLF/EYLDF), National Quality Standards (NQS), ECA Code of Ethics; regulations
d. Considers legal responsibilities of teachers, including duty of care
e. Identififies and reflflects on the role of professional associations in their development as a teacher
f. Demonstrates critical reflflection on links between theory and professional practice supported through wide research of current literature and course learning materials
g. Identififies professional goals and proposes strategies for achieving goals
h. Portfolio and overarching statement are professionally presented
i. Demonstrates academic conventions e.g., grammar, spelling, sentence structure; accurate use of APA style referencing both in-text and reference list; literature and course learning materials used appropriately in support.
The marking criteria sheet specififies the weighting and marks available for each critera. A mark will be awarded for each criterion depending on the extent to which the criterion is addressed. The marking criteria sheet can be found in the Assessment section of Moodle. Your Portfolio will be marked by a lecturer. For assessment tasks uploaded by the due date, feedback can be expected within 21 days in the Assessment section of Moodle.
Task Aim:
The purpose of this task is to enable you to describe and share a range of strategies for involving parents/carers in the educative process. On professional experience you will have had the opportunity to observe and discuss some ideas with your Mentor Teacher and will have tried some strategies of your own.
Task Requirements:
In a report format, as a word document, you are to describe a range of strategies for involving parents/carers in the educative process. In the report, identify the strategy, explain brieflfly how it is implemented, what support may be needed for parents/carers and staffff. Then critically reflflect on how involving parents/carers support quality standards, code of ethics and current frameworks.
