Leadership is the one of the most important factors in our lives. A person who have leadership can easily solve the problem in some groups or crowded people than other people who do not have. According to some news, articles, especially a successful enterpriser, they mainly say that leadership is not the talent that is only provided when we are born, but we can get the skill through our own effort. And I definitely agree with this. It is because that I don't think there is anyone who become a leader as soon as he or she is born. And 1 think there are several huge factors of being a leader such as their parents, members around them, environment, and the like. This essay will discuss the leadership related to my personal life so far and explore it through my Strength Finder Test. As 1 mentioned, I believe that people can be a great leader as they grow up, learning skills related to leadership through several factors I mentioned above. And I would like to talk about my experience of the mandatory military service, which certainly helped me improve my leadership skills.
It was really great chance for me to learn the leadership skill and how to treat other people. As I spent my time there, I got to know the way of listening to other people and persuading other people. I got to know how to compromise my opinion as well, because there were many seniors in my group, and I had to follow them even if they were wrong. As time went on, I became a sergeant and this was the big moment that I got a chance to know about the leadership. Becoming a sergeant means that I become the highest ranked soldier in the group, which means I got to be a leader. I had to teach low-ranked soldiers in my group about the rules of army, how to complete their duty on army, and etc. I felt responsible as the highest ranked soldier in the group, because if our group did not complete the duty and it means that I did not do well in handling the soldiers. And at the end of the military service, people in the group told me I did my work well and they felt grateful to me. I believed that being a leader depends on the talent and anybody can not be a leader. However as soon as I heard that, I thought that anyone in the world could be a good leader through many factors.
leader are bound to make mistakes, and the leader has to acknowledge that they can make mistakes and forgive them. And the leader also need to respect the members, not treating them carelessly. Furthermore, leader will have to acknowledge own mistakes, and drawbacks and accept member's opinions. And I think I am quite good at these things. In conclusion, I have learned a lot of things about leadership through my management class. I have never thought about the leadership before I had this class. and this class got me know about the leadership and think about what leadership skills I have and what skills I need to be a great leader.
