Length: 3,000 words
Undertake scholarly research to prepare a written response to a set essay topic. Your essay must include at least ten references from academically credible sources. Only include references that you have cited in the essay. Use APA style referencing or Harvard, see the CDU library website for details http://libguides.cdu.edu.au/cdureferencing/apa
Preparation: Identifying appropriate scholarly materials, conducting notetaking of relevant material, and drafting a response in essay form, based on the available evidence drawn from the research undertaken.
Presentation: At least 1.5 line spacing and 2.5 cm margins all round. Student name and number and the essay topic must be included at the top of page 1 of the essay. The essay must have page numbering.
Assessment criteria:
Research: Extent of research, critical use of scholarship, and relevance of sources
Argument: Development of argument and originality
Expression: Clarity of expression and essay writing conventions observed (page numbers, referencing, footnoting, student name and number)
