Overview of Task
This assessment task will assess how well you:
a) explain how operations strategies can help a business to sustain its competitive advantage
b) evaluate management strategies in response to changes in internal and external influences
c) organise and evaluate information for actual business situations
d) communicate business information, issues and concepts in appropriate formats
Task Instructions
This assessment task requires you to complete two parts:
Part A: Business Case Study Inquiry [20 Marks]
You are to inquire into an actual business to complete the Business Case Study Operations Summary that follows and that is also digitally available on the Google Classroom. You have been provided with materials on Casella Family Brands on the Google Classroom but are not limited to these or this business only.
Part B: Business Report [20 Marks]
You are to write a business report using your case study of an actual business to answer the following question:
“Investigate and explain how effective operations strategies assist a business to respond to operations influences in order to sustain a competitive advantage.”
Your response is to be written in a business report format, with a word limit of 1500 words. It may be typed or handwritten.
Both parts of your assessment task are to be submitted either in person to your classroom teacher or digitally via the combined Year 12 Business Studies Google Classroom.
You will be provided with 3 periods of class time to work on your assessment task and this time will need to be complemented with independent work to complete your assessment task in full.
Feedback will be provided through the submission of draft works and formally on your submitted work.
All resources will be uploaded to the Google Classroom for your use.
