ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE
DESIGING AN EXPERIMENT
Research question: Is there any difference in oral hygiene and dental health between high social-economic and low social-economic communities, and does that map with an incident of oral cancer? Oral Cancer Knowledge: A Survey Administered to Patients in Dental Departments at Large Italian Hospitals (nih.gov) this is article can be used as reference to design this experiment.
You should design a questionnaire qualitative method(s) in the data analysis between Sydney and Melbourne dental hospitals. You should also include the method of data collection used in the study, e.g. experiments, surveys, animals or patient cohorts etc. The sample size, criteria for selection and whether the sample was randomized or non-randomized should be included. Mention the type of data analysis/statistics that will be employed.
What statistical analysis was used in this experiment, how many patients? How many hospitals? The response percentage? We described the distribution of participant characteristics, including demographics, smoking status, and heavy alcohol consumption. Finally, state if ethics approval needs to be obtained. Show your working as a graph or bar chart Show the questionnaire responses into the category of alcohol consumption , smoking , eduction
X number of questionnaires sent out to Sydney dental hospital and Melbourne dental hospital to assess the health of the teeth and mouth of low social-economic community vs high social economic community and its correlation to oral cancer. The questions asked from participants was to assess:
socio-demographic information such as country of birth, tobacco and alcohol habits, oral hygiene habits, oral symptoms, diet analysis, highest level of education, and the past six month has cost stopped you from getting dental care.in low social economic the alcohol and smoke consumption was higher than the high social economic. Their oral hygiene was poor, lack of information and education, the poor diet and low income stopped them from getting routine dental check up whereas in high social economic even though they were moderately smoking and drinking alcohol, they have the knowledge of how to take care of their oral heath, regular dental check-up, better diet.
Assessment structure
The structured format includes and demonstrates: The Title: The title should capture and reflect the overall impression of the research by describing the relevance and implications of the research outcomes. Try to avoid lengthy titles by using no more than twelve words. Authors: Include the names and affiliations of all authors involved in the study. Introduction: This section should describe - convincingly and concisely - what you will investigate and why the research is important. The first sentence of your introduction should convey the message of how the problem is important and how your overall study contributes to that particular field of research. The introduction should demonstrate clearly the context of the study, or where the research problem originates or is relevant within the national and international context. Explain the problem, concept or question that is being investigated and the basis of your theory or rationale for undertaking the study.
Aims & Hypothesis:
Firstly consider the purpose of your research. The aims should clearly identify the broad question or concept underpinning the research. The hypothesis should relate to the aims, but be specific, directional and testable by your experimental design. Methods: The methods section is usually brief, but in this case can be a bit more expanded on explaining the experiment designed and conducted Include: Study Population and Recruitment.
Results
Discussion: When you have completed the introduction, aims and methods, your conclusion should support the completed framework by presenting the implications of the benefits of the proposed study.
